What does holiness look like in the life of a believer? In this message from the Better Living series, we discover that holiness is far more than a list of do’s and don’ts. Holiness is an issue of the heart—a response to our love for God and our desire to keep our relationship with Him strong and fresh.

Looking at Ezekiel 14 and the biblical warning about idols in the heart, this message challenges us to recognize that idolatry isn’t limited to statues or graven images. An idol can be anything we put before God or desire more than Him. When something takes God’s rightful place in our hearts, it can lead to presumption, estrangement from God, spiritual deafness, and painful consequences.

This message also challenges us to examine the things that have become “inconvenient” in our spiritual lives. Have prayer, Bible reading, worship, church, or time with God become less important because something else has taken priority?

God’s stand against sin isn’t because He doesn’t love us—it is because He does. He knows the consequences of sin and wants to protect His children.

Discover why true holiness begins in the heart and why putting God first leads to genuine freedom.
